At Titanium Dental & Implants, our priority is to preserve your natural teeth whenever feasible. However, there are instances where extracting a tooth is necessary for your overall well-being. We understand that the idea of extractions can be daunting, so we strive to ensure the process is as seamless, comfortable, and stress-free as possible.
Whether you require a tooth extraction due to severe decay, injury, or overcrowding, our team will provide compassionate guidance throughout the entire process. Whether it's a simple extraction or the removal of impacted wisdom teeth, we will tailor the treatment to meet your specific needs.
Our approach to tooth extractions
When Do You Need to Have a Tooth Removed?
- Severe Tooth Decay
When a tooth is extensively decayed and cannot be saved with a filling or root canal, extraction may be necessary to prevent the spread of infection. - Cracked or Damaged Teeth
Teeth that are broken or damaged beyond repair may need to be removed to alleviate pain and protect neighboring teeth. - Advanced Gum Disease
If gum disease has caused a tooth to become loose due to weakened bone and tissue, extraction may be required to safeguard your overall health. - Creating Space for Braces
In certain orthodontic cases, removing one or more teeth may be necessary to address crowding issues and allow for proper alignment. - Impacted Wisdom Teeth
Wisdom teeth that are impacted and causing pain, swelling, or damage to surrounding teeth should be removed early to prevent potential complications in the future.
What You Can Anticipate During the Procedure
- Numbing the Area: We use local anesthesia to gently numb the area, ensuring you do not feel any pain during the procedure.
- Removing the Tooth: Our dentist will delicately and carefully extract the tooth. If the tooth is impacted or difficult to reach, a small surgical procedure may be necessary.
- Stitches If Necessary: In certain cases, stitches may be required to aid in proper healing of the area. These stitches may dissolve on their own or be removed at a later time.
- Recovery and Aftercare: Following the extraction, we will provide you with easy-to-follow instructions to help manage any discomfort and care for your mouth as it heals. Our team is always available to address any questions or concerns you may have during the recovery process.
Recovery Process Following a Tooth Extraction
- In the first 1-2 weeks, it is normal to experience some soreness, swelling, or minor bleeding. It is important to take it easy and follow your aftercare plan to help with the healing process.
- Most people fully heal within a few weeks. During this time, your gum will close over the extraction site, and any stitches will either dissolve or be removed at a follow-up visit.
- We are here for you every step of the way. We will schedule a check-in to ensure that everything is healing well and to address any questions or concerns you may have. Your comfort and well-being are our top priorities.
